Boomkat Product Review:
Wickedly tuff but slinky dembow techno from Miami’s INVT duo, following up collab with Nick Léon and their deployment in mixes by Sherelle and DJ Fart in the Club
It’s a bare boned, tracky session for dancers and DJs, working insistent tresillo techno patterns in four hip-gripping rhythmelodic workouts. ‘Belta’ commands limbs with the tightest, skeletal syncopation adjunct Leonce or Nick Léon, and ‘Culo Rebajado’ follows with more playful sparring snare cadence and deliciously wet synth drip. Back on the harder flex ‘Carajillo Dub’ nails cold kicks and metallic percussion shades away from UKF’s soca-styled snare patterns, with wobbling bass to boot, and ‘Aquaflor’ again recalls a tuffer, technoid take on DJ Python’s dembow house, balanced between driving drum and more sensuous deep house techno pads.
