Boomkat Product Review:
Carpark’s new signing Young Magic seems to have everything it takes to move into the big-league. That post Animal Collective clunky electronic charm, the MGMT-lite hum-along synth melodies and a nod to British bass music that’s more than just passive. In fact these productions are probably closer to what people thought James Blake’s album was actually going to sound like. Makes sense to me that he should join the Carpark ranks alongside Toro Y Moi – there’s a similar soulful shuffle to Young Magic’s steez.
