Boomkat Product Review:
Formidable EP from highly-regarded West Coast producer Salva, leading with 'Yellobone', a hydraulic house stepper that sits alongside recent stuff from Author, Throwing Snow, Damu and the Night Slugs crew. B. Bravo helps out on 'Obsession', a sprightly, vocoder-assisted G'd-out boogie-funk jam in the vein of Dam-Funk and 2000F, but with a techy punch and precision all its own. 'Komodo' is killer, splitting the difference between high-speed Miami/Detroit ghetto-electro styles and Zomby-esque soundsystem psychedelia - check it. Shlohmo & 2KWTVR remix 'Yellowbone' in spacious, teasingly tranced-out dubstep fashion, and LOL Boys offer up a more linear but nicely rugged, beefy-bassed tech-house refix. Solid styles, all the way.
