Boomkat Product Review:
Hair Police's Robert Beatty is the latest American noise rogue taken by the elemental thrills of throbbing techno grot. He's returned to this alias time and again since 2002 for labels such as NNA Tapes, Night People and Arbor, but it's Acoustic Division who receive his latest and greatest; three tracks of pummelling, soggy bass, brittle polyrhythms and radiophonic bloopery primed for the most f**ked dancefloors around. 'Dr. Wrong Element' is an exemplary dose, tunnelling head down into modulating, bilgy Techno pushed by unhealthy bass and warped with overdriven FX, while 'Solid, Liquid, or Daughter' shapes saccharine, pealing bleeps and crumbling electronics into a writhing mass of motorik oddness and the 11 minute 'Jet Animal' regains its dead-eyed trajectory on a jacking mission for the "curious and high functioning members of our civilization." It's essential if you've been loving the recent output of Henry & Hazel Slaughter, Pete Swanson etc.
