Boomkat Product Review:
Back on Diskotopia, Mau'lin cuts a darker figure with the hollowed 2-step dub and electro spectres of his 'Wrecker' EP. With the lead cut he steps off from the darkside '05 garage sound of El-B, Kode 9, or D1 into a woozier headspace haunted by gaunt grime and skunky dub vibes. 'Tail Bone' is strickly up-to-date, rending a blend of Ballroom and Swamp 81's 808 styles with trippier sound design recalling Night Slugs and Total Freedom efforts. 'Octopus Arm' tips out on a driving UK techno sound gutted out and perfused with etherial voices and glass-smashing foley like some gully Jam City techno mission. Smart drugs.
