Boomkat Product Review:
Some may accuse us of being sycophantic, but surely this has been a seriously vintage year for Shackleton productions. Following the 3EP set for Perlon and remixes for Harmonia and Moderat, he now tackles London's hyped Invasion for two doom dub reductions. Split into two parts, 'Wizards In Dub' arranges stealth padded bass and shreds of the original vocal around sombre synthlines, sounding like one of their metallic burred riffs held in vacuum stasis. The second and slightly shorter version brings the percussion to the front of the mix, slinging skulking syncopations over cosmic riffage while vocalist Chan is doomed to forever repeat her utterance in the infinite darkness of a chasmic dub abyss. Terrifyingly brilliant and highly recommended wares from the low-end master.
