Boomkat Product Review:
Three years since owning us with his magikal debut for Tri Angle - our single of the year in 2010 - oOoOO deposits his first LP. It comes to us via Nihjgt Feelings, a label run by the artist from "the Turkish island of Bozcaada" with his friends and expands on that ghostly sound with a modest but growing confidence, experimenting with texture and dynamic in eleven faded ambient R&B paeans. It's a proper album experience, suspending disbelief by spidery strings from the faded majesty of opener 'Sirens' and keeping us immersed through the emaciated shadow pop of 'Stay Here' to the autotuned Euro-pop vocal melody of the title cut, toying with that detached, metaphysical presence in the backmasked samples and sombre keys of 'Crossed Wires' and nourishing its soul thru the hooded swagger of 'Mouchette' to the melodrama of 'Across A Sea', tking in diversions to blown-out trap on 'The South' and the burned-out, Burial-esque rollige of '5:51am'.
