Boomkat Product Review:
Liz Harris has managed to forge a record from the simplest of concepts : her vocals, a guitar, what sounds like a keyboard and ancient tape delays through which everything is filtered. The outcome is simply a marvel to behold, and 'Way Their Crept' is without a doubt the finest album of its kind (I'm trying to refrain from using the word 'ambient' for obvious reasons) in quite some time. Compared to everyone from William Basinski to Arvo Part, what makes this album so wondrous is the utter originality at play through every pore of each piece; Harris has come up with a sound quite beautiful in it's slightly unsettling way. Disperate parts bring together trapped fragments of music - long forgotten, elements of unknown instruments, found sounds that you're convinced you've heard before. There is an ethereal quality to these pieces that brings to mind the unfathomable descent into deep sleep, something that makes for a remarkable listen. Highly Recommended.
