Warehouse Sessions Volume 5
The fifth and final instalment in Claro Intelecto's Warehouse Sessions is finally with us, bringing to a close a series of twelves that began back in 2006. The A-side track "Hunt You Down" has been messing with people's heads for the last six months or so as part of Claro's live set. It's a shocking Maurizio style dub workout in 4/4 that's relentlessly sharp and deep, accompanied by stretched chords and metallic shards that subvert the track throughout its 11 minute duration. The percussion continually shifts and develops, while the bassline and kickdrum provide stability and depth. Play this loud and you will absolutely terrify yourself - it's a work of some considerable, weighty genius. Over on the flip "Momento" is a clanky Jacker that pretty much embodies the Warehouse aesthetic perfectly, making use of forever panning metallic stabs and an impossibly weighty bassdrum, its like a classic Chicago Warehouse track modified for added low-end pressure, slow, slinky and nothing short of devastating. This series has totally ruled our world, and for our money it comes to an end showing its strongest hand. KILLER TWELVE - ESSENTIAL PURCHASE!
