Boomkat Product Review:
Cosmic disco special dispatched by Danielle Baldelli and Marco Dionigi from a volcanic island in Sicily, southern Italy, home of an art and music festival titled in its honour.
Apparently inspired by his time at last year’s edition of the festival, Baldelli teams up with Dionigi to rework Manuel Göttsching/Ashra’s Shuttlecock on the A-side, turning it into a cruise-controlled mid-tempo chug-along gilded with arpeggiated grids and milky synth spumes to enhance your dancefloor glyde.
On the other side we find two original Baldelli bits: Tangram gets down with fuzzed-up psyche guitar licks and chirpy organ vamps with a certain Brazilian shuffle; Suruas swerves that vibe into deeper, hypnotic disco zones flaring with classic Italo riffs.
“' Why I have to play two hours of only funky or only disco I like to play every kind of music together, and that's what I like to say is my cosmic style.'- Daniele Baldelli.”
