Boomkat Product Review:
Four fresh tunes from the man out of Copenhagen. “Memories” is a determinedly slo-mo electrodisco chugger, falling way beyond that somewhat maligned genre’s eighties’ fixations and perhaps siding with the new retro modern cosmic school. impossible to define though really, as there’s still touches of dub, and an almost indie inflection which perhaps bears more in common with cco’s lovely Miwon album, than anything else on Kompakt. “Rain” turns up the adrenaline subtly, nice builds and a vocodered feel which really fills out on this vinyl. The title cut could have been recorded by depeche mode in deep heady congress, lurching around the studio to a decidedly hazed scahffel style beat, but no matter – “Align” seems to have cleaned up a bit, still wonky and deranged, but with a more direct rhythmic impetus which suggests yet again a forwards motion. Diverse twelve and something refreshingly different from the cologne maffia.
