Boomkat Product Review:
Regal Degal are a post punk three-piece from LA (via Brooklyn, of course) and ‘Veritable Who’s Who’ overlays their template with Krautrock, new wave and even a smattering of world music for good measure. It’s almost typically pounding stuff, and it’s refreshing to hear a post punk act who have stuck to their guns instead of jumping ship and going electro-pop cold wave to suit the current climate. Maybe it’s the LA scene’s influence, but the trio sound more urgent than ever and their heady fusion is a breath of fresh air in a depressingly whitewashed scene. ‘Veritable Who’s Who’ sounds like an album for fans of Talking Heads who don’t have time for MGMT, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
