Boomkat Product Review:
Esteemed techno producer Inigo Kennedy realises his finest album statement to date with 'Vaudeville' for his long-standing supporters at Belgium's Token Records. Taking the idea of 'Vaudeville' - 'the voice of the city' - as its central tenet, Kennedy shapes a richly detailed and diverse ecology of ambient electronics, dancefloor killers and street-stalking themes united by a "clear narrative for urban experience." Ten tracks traverse concrete interzones under greyscale skies, from the gloaming drones of 'Narrative' thru the churning techno of 'Birth' and the melting IDM techno shapes of 'Requiem' to the arterial throb and vaulted harnonics of 'Plaintive'. The pace resets to thrumming rolige in Vallecula' and the frozen techno glyde of 'Winter', saving best for last with the emotive impact of 'Aleph' and the skittish electro breaks of 'NGC5128' to close.
