Boomkat Product Review:
The unknown badman producer referred to as "Joe" drops his second heavyweight platter in the wake of last weeks awesome 'Claptrap' shocker. For Apple Pips he offers two more micro-processed and itchy-as-hell rhythm trips, practically opening up his own sub-genre of mnml-dubstep in the process (purists are gonna love that!). With his usual palette of clinking pots-and-pans percussion 'Untitled' adds smooth chord progressions and spherical sub hits to snag us in his groove. We reckon 'Digest' is the real winner however, strongly reminding of Untold's fractured building process, but taken one step further, removing most of the connective tissues to leave a rattling funnybones character flexing on some autistic-step style. That may not sound sexy, but it actually offers the dancer much room for interpretation, which is directly inverse to the stentorian command of so much dubstep rave dross that's around. Smart.
