Boomkat Product Review:
Firecracker sublabel, Unthank, follow that Bakey USTL cracker with three choice cuts of deeper TechnoHouse by Ukraine's Vakula. This fella is steadily establishing a very distinguished sound with releases like his Steve Reich-sampling '2x5' and various missives for Quintessentials and Dekmantel among others, but this is probably his most refined release to date. The A-side tips a peak to the timeless square bass House templates worked by Claro Intellecto or Kassem Mosse on 'Track 1', plus one shorter, beautifully cute electronica groove recalling AFX's SAW '85-92 trax. The flipside is a more mystical affair, shuffling to hypnotic Heiroglyphic melody and shifty, padded bassline that wouldn't sound out of place in an Actress track.
