Boomkat Product Review:
Beamed from Montréal via Texas, Marie Davidson yields a gorgeous suite of alien synth pop sung in seductive French and English tongues. Her 3rd album, 'Un Autre Voyage' is an accomplished sound, proving an adroit touch over various sub-strata of coldwave and synth-pop compositional styles. Launching at an astral adjunct to Group Rhoda with the motorik drive and pensile synth drone of 'Boulevard Tascherau', she comes over all SPK or Skinny Puppy with the excellent 'Excès de Vitesse' (god this is sexy) and devolves into ghostly drone recalling 51517 with the expansive vision of 'Kidnap You In The Desert', followed by the twinkling kosmiche lights of 'Insomnie'. Back to the 'floor, the slow cosmic house of 'Balade Aux USA' will work a treat in the right hands on the right 'floor, and 'Perséphone' gives a cold gynoid giss off recalling Gerald Donald and Victoria Lukas' Zerkalo project.
