Boomkat Product Review:
As the title suggests, this is the second album by Berlin duo Le Dust Sucker whose dancefloor-baiting tactics involve a keen ear for retro-styled house assaults. From the get go, with 'School's Out', the pair establish this, their dusty beat-sampling and understated guitar funk given a bit of an epic quality by some clanging bells and downbeat piano motifs. It certainly makes for an effective juxtaposition and a sure fire attention-grabber to start off the album. Maintaining the momentum, 'It All Comes Down' keeps the tempo up with some dramatic disco string stabs and a few squawking synths helping to move the track along. 'Pfizer Soul' is comprised from a similar melting pot of instruments, albeit with a greater emphasis on motorik bass and a more cinematic approach to the string textures. Le Dust Sucker have certainly pulled off a distinctive sound, which is characterised by a pronounced sense of soulfulness and old fashioned house authenticity. Very nice indeed.
