Boomkat Product Review:
Following Ostgut’s excellent vinyl debut some weeks back by Dettmann/Klock, this week we have the second release from berliner Paul Brtschitsch. Raised in Frankfurt/Main, Brtschitsch also produces and runs the label Taksi with André Galluzzi, and recently decided to move back to his old home town. These two tracks show the telltale hedonistic influence of visits to Berghain/Panorama bar, where Paul, in his own words, quenched his thirst for inspiration. You can imagine “twirl” as a perfect soundtrack to the moment when the shutters open up at Panorama and daylight floods the room. “under” on t’other side is an atmospheric track trying to outline the vast scale of the Berghain. Not to say that the tracks couldn't work at any other place: both are universal and useful scorchers, fusing a certain sense of summery trance with the right measure of dancefloor medication, making this a strong contender for the perfect open air record this summer.
