Boomkat Product Review:
Ostgut Ton prep the ground for Luke Slater's debut L.B. Dub Corps album with three tracks of tribalist, Afro-dub-infected house also starring British dub poet, Benjamin Zephaniah. According to the label and Slater it's a return to his and dance music's roots. 'Turner's House' comes off something like a reduced L.B. Bad house groove, light footed and melodic with a cheeky quirk. 'Nearly Africa Dub' is more insistently tribal and closer to his techno sound but with enough slink and hypnotic horniness to be called house. 'I Have A Dream' is quite different: Benjamin Zephaniah gives his version of MLK's classic, delivered with unique wit and wordplay over a riddim on the cusp of Bristol-style bass/techno and Berlin styles.
