Boomkat Product Review:
Micachu draws 'Turn Me Well' and 'Just In Case' from her widely acclaimed (yet controversially, Mercury-snubbed) debut album Jewellery. 'Turn Me Well' starts off with a bout of what's probably a vacuum cleaner but could easily have been a dentist's drill, marking a typically Matthew Herbert intro. It's actually fairly hard to work out where Micachu's disjointed electronics end and Herbert's production begins, but they're clearly a well-suited match, and both album tracks remain hook-laden and brimming with entertainment value, despite the loose grip on structure and mish-mashed madness that's going on in the background. Finally, Marcwithasee offers a remix of the lead track, re-titling it 'Turn Me Ill' and bringing a righteously squelchy dubstep bassline to proceedings.
