Boomkat Product Review:
Hyper charged electrostep futurism from Ninja Tune's new signing Shuttle backed with a remix from High Rankin and featuring Canuck MC Cadence Weapon. Under his previous alter ego of Etan, Shuttle provided us with nu-glo remixes of Crystal Castles and co on the warmly recieved Tronstep 12", and with 'Tunnel' he pits hi-end laptop production skills into a mesh of Caspa style dubstep dynamics with epic Krauty synthlines, but reverts back to his indie-electronica fetish on 'Rotten Guts' with Cadence Weapon riding a sharp juxtaposition of stepping drum patterns with exuberant melodics influenced by Crystal Castles. The High Rankin remix fits out 'Tunnel' with a Gunjack style breakstep chassis for the raving crew and puts the finishing touch to a promising debut 12" from young Shuttle. Fans of King Cannibal, Warlock, Crystal Castles, or even Justice will find their own angle here.
