Boomkat Product Review:
Joel Ford and Dan Lopatin continue to enchant with each release on their fledgling Software imprint. Having recently impressed with offerings from Carlos Giffoni, Napolian, Slava and Megafortress, Ford himself now returns to the fray with a new release as Airbird. Building on the promise of his 2011 Software debut, 'City Vs Mountains', Ford drops a four-track EP of beautifully airbrushed, melancholic techno-pop. Shimmering electro and computerised boogie-funk tropes drive 'Royal' and 'Girl', while 'Goodnight' explores gauzier, almost Balearic textures. 'Trust', the EP's title track, sounds like a collaboration between Burial and Hall & Oates - in a good way.
