Boomkat Product Review:
*Part 2* Excellently produced fractured electronics from Cuba's Alain Hernandez aka Nomadic for Andrea Parker's Touchin' Bass imprint. It's certainly not the most fashionable sound right now but props must go out to Andrea Parker for sticking to the agenda and supporting the music she loves so wholeheartedly. Nomadic's sound is a bare-bones appropriation of the kind of developed IDM best represented by Autechre's Chiastic Slide album or by mid-period Phoenecia, except perhaps a little more minimal. The production here is immense, with little other than stripped percussion and distortion for company, and a love of the glitch reminiscent of all those DSP-fuelled albums of the late 90's. Solid stuff - check.
