Boomkat Product Review:
The Mordant Music Travelogues series always presents the listener with a very murky, wilfully perplexing listening experience, and they seem to get less and less decipherable with every instalment. Quite what sort of auditory tourism is going on here might forever remain unclear: 'Sanga' is a soupy blend of heavily processed recordings and gauzy, anonymous Sublime Frequencies-style sonic ephemera. Further adding to the confusion are submerged and distorted electronic instruments, all tangled up throughout these nine minutes of bad-trip soundscapes and effects-laden abstractions. Hopefully these Travelogues will make some sort of sense once the series is complete - maybe we'll be able to play them all at the same time and something will emerge from the noise like one of those Magic Eye pictures... but you know, with sound. In the meantime, here's another beguiling slice of weirdness to lose yourself in. Recommended.
