Boomkat Product Review:
Meanwhile records co-owner Bovill could never be accused of lacking quality control. The label he co-runs with Murmur maintains stringently high values, which he also applies to his own small but perfectly formed catalogue of releases. With only four releases in the last 5 years (this is his fifth), he manages to do what a lot of operators within this field fail to do in a lifetime - turn out essential records. The 'Transfesa EP' is purest Detroit/Berlin/Chicago classicism, layering the richest analogue synth tones reminiscent of Psyche/BFC's 'Elements' with endlessly grooving rhythms hinting at Mood II Swing and the endess depths of Moritz Von Oswald for four utterly sublime and heartwarming compositions. We'd happily wait another 5 years for one of these EPs, it's just one of those you can't get over. Hugely recommended to lovers of soul driven house and techno electronics - Essential Purchase!
