To Describe George Washington Bridge
Acclaimed electro-acoustic composer Stephan Mathieu returns to Dekorder following his 2009 release 'The Key To The Kingdom' with another achingly lush release. He deploys similar methods to his recent 12k album 'A Static Place': playing original 78 recordings from his famed collection through a gramophone, recording onto customized mic's and transforming the output with spectral analysis and convolution processes in order to capture the spatial quality of the room - only the results here are much more succicnt, and poignantly beautiful because of their brevity. The end product is genuinely opulent, but not ostentatious, perhaps divining kindred spirits with the Caretaker, but aesthetically occupying a far more refined and detailed space. In a word, they're incredible. Highly recommended.
