Boomkat Product Review:
Once the stuff of legend, changing hands for preposterous sums of money in its original incarnation as an LP issued by Electric Honey (the record label attached to Stow College in Glasgow) in 1996. Tigermilk is hardly an album that requires much in the way of an introduction. As British debut albums go, this is right up there amongst the very best within the annals of indie rock, spreading its influence through the generation to come, and still impacting on bands like Los Campesinos! and other such modern-day progenitors of articulacy and wit. Songs like 'She's Losing It' and 'The State I'm In' are timeless and enduring remnants from the underbelly of Britpop, and it's probably not unreasonable to start using the word 'classic' in a fairly liberal fashion.
