Boomkat Product Review:
The pieces here are lengthy, 23 mins and 13 mins respectively, featuring Giffoni with an imitation 303 and drum machine. Apart from the entrance and exit, the bulk of the first track is relatively restrained, featuring more Chicago-esque patterns than his 12", that means funkier albeit in a naive and not-quite-mastered-the-form style. but the rawness is what makes the recording so compelling. The main element is really the 303 and synth lines which boil and curl in an abstract and psychedelic style, like the drums, not made for dancing unless you really want to. The second track is a full pelt assault, like Afx (minus the kicks) losing his marbles on an actual tab of LSD attempting to find his way into the centre of the circuit board. These are well limited - and very very good.
