Boomkat Product Review:
Giuseppe Ielasi's trajectory into glitching micro-sound turns up more aces with this EP for Dekorder. There's an abstract but playful feel to the construction of these tracks, retaining a sense of funk in the jazzy fluctuations of 'Pt.1', or reminding of Farben in the warmly textured sample mesh of 'Pt.2'. The vocals on 'Pt.3' would probably sound menacing in other circumstances, but surrounded with Ielasi's slivers of drone and gently twitching rhythms they sound almost meditative, while 'Pt.5' reminds of the recent Oval album and the hugely impressive sixth part combines Afro-timbred percussion with near-Baroque synth melodies without sounding pretentious. Recommended!
