Boomkat Product Review:
One thing is for certain - 'Think About Life' like to party. Despite being around for quite a while now and doing copious amounts of touring (including a support stint with the critically lauded Wolf Parade) this is their debut album, and it sets them in good stead for what I'm sure will be another serious bout of touring. Unsurprisingly in today's climate the music is angular dancefloor-friendly post-punk, but the difference with 'Think About Life' is that they seem uninterested in haircuts and posing, going instead for a damn good roll around on stage. Just listen to the anthemic 'Paul Cries' - a 130 bpm romp with distorted synths chiming away as they chant 'Get set, get set for life', it's the perfect introduction to the album and sets the party off with a bang. The proceeding tracks detail the band's love of cheap keyboards, broken guitars and discordant excess and are all held down by that all important dancefloor beat. I'm sure TAL absolutely take the roof off any venues they play and they're probably one of the most unashamedly 'fun' bands of this kind I've heard so far this year, so root them out and pogo to your hearts content!
