Boomkat Product Review:
*Jewel Case Edition* JD Twitch presents an impeccably mixed overview of his home city's feted electronic music scene; 'The Underground Sound Of Glasgow'. Now, unless you've had your bonce in a bucket for the last half decade, you can't have failed to notice the disproportionate surge of musical energy from Scotland's biggest city - and if you have then this is a great place to catch up. Omitting the more obvious numbers, your DJ pal and guide crams in some 21 tracks of high energy house and disco swagger segued with brilliant interludes, neatly reflecting the messy excess and intensity of a night on the 'floor in Glasgow. The opening couplet of John Stevens' folkie 'The Big Kilmarnock Bonnet' and JD's own mix of Bill Wells & Aidan Moffat's 'Glasgow Jubilee' makes for a damn fine opening and paves the way for a breathless and often emotional roll of aces from Doubleheart, Lord Of The Isles, Naum Gabo, Auntie Flo, Dollskabeat, Gary Beck and Optimo's own edit of Factory Floor, among many others. It's gotta be the coolest advert for Glasgow's tourism board imaginable and well recommended to anyone with a party to fuel, or a funky itch that needs to be scratched.
