Boomkat Product Review:
Big f*ck-off blue thumb for this, like: Mark Wynn is a rakish funny c*nt from York, who sings and sounds like it in the best way and makes most other indie blokes with a guitar sound like utterly contrived, smarmy pebbles.
He’s probably the kind of guy who could get annoying as hell in the pub when you just want to push the off switch, but on record his blunt North Yorkshire schtick and string of non-sequiturs are highly entertaining - like a more legible Mark E Smith (groan yeh, it had to be said) replacing the massive Salford chip on his shoulder with a funnier, jabbing form of observational wit and poetic meter that’s definitely peculiar to the region and his accent.
In case you need any more context, it’s on Harbinger Sound - the same label as Sleaford Mods - and NME called him one to watch for 2015, but really, please don’t let that put you off.
