Boomkat Product Review:
Drummer William Hooker has assembled a trio with violinist Eyvind Kang and electric guitarist Bill Horist for this latest disc, which explores the outer limits of jazz, noise rock and modern harmony. The seven cuts here range from spacious elongations of 'Seasons II' to the frenzied, maniacal Woodstock vibes of 'Outcry', but are by no means limited to the extremes of anarchic improvisation. 'Under The Hammer' finds Kang at his most lyrical, serving up technically dextrous electrified violin phrases while Hooker keeps the energy levels up. A blast.
