Boomkat Product Review:
Ali Wells looks beyond the ruined post-industrial landscape of the UK for the latest release on his Perc Trax label, the work of Dutch veteran Bas Mooy. On 'Fasad', subtle, art-house horror atmospherics set the scene for a jabbing, dramatically swung rhythm faintly reminiscent of T++'s Erosion 12"s, while the more convention techno rollers 'Kneel' and 'Pose' inhabit a similar zone to Mooy's new labelmates Forward Strategy Group, and 'Loaded' makes no bones of its debt to Scion, BC, Fluxion et al. Music like this isn't exactly in short supply, now or historically, but few producers are capable of delivering it to such a high and precision-tooled standard. Undoubtedly a strong look for the deeper techno heads.
