Boomkat Product Review:
Returning with their first new studio album in thirteen years, Three Mile Pilot are on fine form for The Inevitable Past Is The Forgotten Future. The band has been on hiatus due to the breakaway success of side projects launched by members Pall Jenkins and Zach Smith (The Black Heart Procession and Pinback, respectively), but this comeback is an impressive affair. Self-produced in the band members' own home studios, the record is a lean and highly accessible affair, loaded with seasoned alt. rock arrangements and matured (yet still suitably raucous) songwriting. The likes of 'Still Alive' and 'Same Mistake' compare favourably to anything the fresher faced, current generation of indie whipper-snappers might come out with, offering top quality downbeat arena guitar sounds that clearly draws on Smith and Jenkins' experiences in their successful side-projects.
