Boomkat Product Review:
**Lossless format contains 24 bit audio** The Gaslamp Killer, pure and uncut, recorded Live in Los Angeles with a 15-strong unit of drums, keys, brass, allah that proper band stuff. Following a near-fatal accident, GLK appeared against the doctor's warnings on 7th November 2014 at the Mayan Theater, LA to conduct his hand-picked troupe via iPad whilst also manning decks and mic, truest nexx level B-boy style. The spacious recording, incorporating a rich patina of crowd recording, places us in the midst of scrambled samples, brooding strings and funereal brass for the first five minutes, precipitating a sumptuous Ethiopiques groove in 'Apparitions' and mutant Turkish psych styles in 'Nissim', before a payload of Axelrod-like danger-funk in 'Shattering Inner Journeys'. When he comes on the mic to introduce 'In The Dark' it switches up for a crushing finale and cascading, shivering strings seceding to the pan-cosmic jazz revelations of the 13 minute climax, 'Keep It Simple Stupid'.
