Boomkat Product Review:
NY-via-Alabama's Sharp Veins drops a cassette version of his outstanding 60-minute, 100% own productions mix for RBMA backed up with a trio of unreleased edits and cuts from the same session.
Last spotted on the quickly sold-out Inbox Island 12" for Glacial Sound, Sharp Veins' sound is maybe best received as club music viewed from a distance, or sonic out-of-body experience.
Although it's readily available to stream on the 'net, his most substantial recording to date, The Earth Splashed is arguably best suited to the physical, ferric infidelities of this tape, where its smudged and fizzing textures seem to coalesce and oxidise with a viscous quality and more tangible lushness.
Imagine TCF slowed 600% and mastered to VHS by Basinski and you should get the fuzzy picture we're trying to portray here. It's a reel gem.
