Boomkat Product Review:
No, it's not that Kevin Shields, this is actually the work of noise artist Eva Aguila, who has pulled a Jason Forrest (aka Donna Summer) and poached another artist's name. Irritating, I'm sure you'll agree. Aguila makes a primitive, bludgeoning dirge throughout this album, occasionally giving you a few morsels of harmony and excessive pleasantness, just so you can re-calibrate your senses to the normal world before submitting yourself once again to the pulverising impact of her remorselessly vicious campaign of harsh noise tyranny. Not an especially articulate slab of sound from Ms. Shields, but what it lacks in subtlety, nuance and compositional detail it more than makes up for in relentlessness and severity.
