Boomkat Product Review:
Prosumer dropped a twelve late last year on Swayzak’s 240 Volts imprint which I recall pretty fondly. This attempts to sound like prime period Fingers Inc, but unfortunately the vocal ends up sounding much more like no-fi Erasure or Alison Moyet on a particularly husky one. Far more satisfying is “the storm” with the always understated latin influence in early acid house coming right to the fore. Luckily there’s a cultural, chunky dub mix of the topside, which atones for the vocal inadequacies of the lead tune. Two out of three ain’t bad, and they’re good ones.
