Boomkat Product Review:
The follow up to the massive 'Feeline' and in our opinion, the best Roska plate to date, the 'Climate change' EP is the one you need! Firstly there's the rejigged and well fed V.I.P version of 'Feeline', rethought with dance heating hardcore stabs and triple tight edits for a bona fide anthem track that's a pleasure to mix and chop with other similarly kinked Funky cuts. Given Roska's background in UKG the flow of his tracks is much more informed by the stripped and twisted rhythm engines of 2-Step or jungle than the US house of Dennis Ferrer which holds a heavy influence over the scene. Check 'Pyramids' or 'title track 'Climate Change' for a masterclass in Funky fresh Kick/Snare patterns which are at the centre of all Roska's productions, and especially the raw old skool approach to stabbed sampling on 'Pyramids' which sounds like Todd Terry crossbred with Cousin Cockroach for 2008/9. Next to HHB's 'Sirens' this is one of the last year's most essential 12"s and we couldn't recommend it much higher.
