Boomkat Product Review:
Cranky-ass motorik trips and abyssal psych visions
Striking from the void, Necro Deathmort are out for blood in their first album with world-renowned psychedelic head twisters, Rocket Recordings.
Like a Frankensteinian horror job stitched and grafted from Prostitutes, The Body and Steve Moore, The Capsule contains seven tracks of bloodied-minded, motorik rhythm, trapdoor synth spirals and keening strings that tap into a common subconscious channelling classic celluloid and invasive thoughts of the hivemind.
They’ve nailed a really cold touch and empty-stomach churn with this album, starting up with adrenalizing force of In Waves but heading on an enervating and clinically depressing trajectory therein, from the overcast black metal atmosphere of First Rays and Moonstar thru an eldritch interzone entitled Moonstar, to a passage of gold standard ‘80s horror romance in Crux and the plummeting, Liegti-meets-Coil synth ’n strings of Pecklyn to leave us cold, petrified and shivering at Screens.
