Boomkat Product Review:
The Creative Space label continues to forge an electronica debted form of dubstep with the latest release inviting Mary-Anne Hobbs favourite Ekelon outta Athens on board. His only previous appearance on wax was for MAH's 'Evangeline' comp but given a full 12" to play with he provides three tracks of crushing weight and crafty delivery that should turn a few heads. The two versions of 'Techrische' and 'Techrine' sneakily slip in a well known sample from two of Rochdale's finest, but bent into a classy dubstep format and with enough new ideas to warrant the lift. Imagine vintage Vex'd crossbred with Ae and you're in the right warehouse. '7th Soul' on the other side clams for some old-skool IDM refinement, using the dubstep framework as a base to create detailed harmonic structures, to which Sully inserts a flexing backbone of flickering 2-step beats on his remix. One of the finest records on Creative Space to date, we can imagine everyone from Surgeon to Rob Hall and Distance or Headhunter getting down with these.
