Boomkat Product Review:
Leading on from his sparkling debut album, K-Lone summons the UKG flex for new label Sweet N Tasty
Throwing back to the late ‘90s heyday of UKG, he sparks off four classy joints peppered with crafty vocal snippets and floating on Air Max subbass. ‘Bad’ gives it up for the bumpty Todd Edwards style with slick chords and Missy samples, and ‘One’ keeps it percolating with glancing keys and driving 4:4 offset with Cutty Ranks stabs. ‘Over Here’ cuts a little deeper, later in the night with its dubbed out swang, and ’Snyders’ deftly pivots around woodblock snares on a speed garage tuck ’n parry.
