Boomkat Product Review:
Australian musical project c.s.k.a. take a Bengali folk song recorded to cassette as their starting point for this three-part piece of music, resulting in the kind of resonant, magnetic tape dissections you might associate with the later period of Hafler Trio recordings. There's not quite as much depth to these metallic drones as you'd find on one of Andrew McKenzie's pieces of acousmatic trickery, but there's something oddly haunting about them nevertheless. The Tapesong pieces (or 'Morsels' as they're billed here) were recorded live in 2007, treated by computer processing, yet you'd never really know, such is the ethereal mysteriousness of these slight and vaporous sounds.
