Boomkat Product Review:
Arriving from Michigan's electronic music community, A Setting Sun's Jay Bodley teams up with Zachary Shigeto Saginaw for an unclassifiable traipse through woozy electronic dreamscapes. This turns out to be quite a revelation: 'Polaroid Romance' is part Popol Vuh, part Deaf Center, drifting majestically between glacial chord changes, all coloured by choral-sounding synth tones. It's a short-lived slice of ambience however, and 'Mois De Mars' soon shifts emphasis to airy, beat-driven electronics, peppered with manipulated sounds of laughter and jostling cutlery. 'Girls And Boys Want Boyfriends And Girlfriends' is up next, supplying warm-spirited micro-drones before the hazy beat compressions of 'En el Mes de Agosto' change the tone yet again. Highly enjoyable genre-non-specific material from the Moodgadget label, and another compelling addition to their digital catalogue.
