Sendai is the new collaborative project between T2X label head Peter Van Hoesen and fellow Belge Yves De Mey. Although it still bears the weight to carry the club, the Sendai sound is more stripped and spectral than Van Hoesen's solo productions. Any melodic elements are pared back to near drone like synthlines and cold tripping atmospherics on 'System Policy' with shards of metallic resonance wrapped around a heavyweight bass throb developing with the austere quality of the finest Marcel Dettmann cuts. 'Below K-pun One' is a little more like we're used to from Van Hoesen, rolling out the grumbling grunt-bass and sub-industrial techno percussion built as a purely effective tool for the DJs, before van Hoesen himself takes on 'System Policy' for his own mix with a severely dystopian sound sphere driven by a heaving square bassline. Dark and groovy techno for fans of MLZ, Dettmann or Klock.
