Boomkat Product Review:
Soma offer one of their strongest releases of the year from 1/3rd of Wareika, Florian Schirmecker, together with Klartraum's Helmut Ebritsch - working together under the 'Hatikvah' moniker. 'Synchronicity' is a set of hi-end German House music, putting the plush production skills of two experienced craftsmen to great use over ten tracks of dub-shaped, soulful, and captivating deep-end dance music. With a combination of hushed, over-the-shoulder vocals, sumptuous bass shapes and tripping tribal percussion akin to Schirmecker's Wareika project, the duo set out ten tracks of the deepest variety, strongly reminding of Moritz Von Oswald's recent solo productions like his 'Cocoon Dark Dub' and superlative remix of Tony Allen. Highlights run from the Luomo-esque House of 'Introduce Me', to the slowly asphyxiating intimacy of 'Big Mind' and more frisky groovers like 'Beneath' and the dubby, soulful stride of 'Modern Times'. Recommended.
