Boomkat Product Review:
The hyper productive Sasu Ripatti aka Vladislav Delay and partner Antye Greie-Fuchs rekindle their AGF/Delay project for Bpitch control with an album of electronic technopop. Delay's unique electro-acoustic touch is daubed all over the twelve tracks, but tempered differently to either his Luomo or solo productions to match with AGF's slightly saccharine and breathy vocals. 'Get Lost' has shades of post-punk with thin and understated melodies sounding far more lo-fi than we know Delay is capable of, but 'Downtown Snow' adds crafty production tweaks to morph AGF's vocals to sickly effect, perfectly weighted against the hushed urgency of her delivery. 'Outbreak' is the sets highlight, with the pair creating a sensual hybrid of post-garage skip patterns with queerly avant-electropop melodics while 'Symptoms' take a skewed look at dubstep swing and pressure with a defined pop edge from AGF's distantly removed vocals embedded deep in the mix. The album never spills too far into experimental territor, but strikes the right balance of cutting edge electronics and understated pop influenced by the darker side of electropop and post punk. Recommended to lovers forward thinking female electronica or any of Ripatti's previous work.
