Boomkat Product Review:
Warren Hildebrand's Foxes In Fiction project arrives at Moodgadget with this absorbing album, crossing over between ambient music and blurry, bedroom dream-pop. The first half of the record plays out as a lengthy, continuous flow of dream-like, beatless textures, but by the time we get to 'New Panic Cure', Hildebrand is more forthcoming, supplying a clicky electronic beat that ticks alongside reverberant chords in a manner not unlike something you'd hear on a Freescha album. Vocals join the fray with a similarly echo-coated character, instantly summoning up references to Bradford Cox's Atlas Sound recordings. Further in the ambient elements take over again, with 'Insomnia Keys' bringing to mind Stars Of The Lid, but the songs keep coming back to the forefront and the album closes especially strongly on the upbeat 'Flashing Lights Have Ended Now'.
