Boomkat Product Review:
Without a doubt, Go Hiyama has been producing some of the strongest industrial techno coming out of Japan for some years now. His tracks minimal and technically advanced productions are a regular fixture in sets of Rob Hall and Surgeon, with this latest on Token currently in the boxes of both DJs. The title track cuts an impressive figure, mixing the twisted flex of British Murder Boys with a lean and focussed strain of minimalism while 'Tokyo' stylishly gallops on an engine of staggered kicks running over buckling metal surfaces. 'First Hind Leg' is the peaker, throwing down insistent 909 hi-hats and creased rhythm syncopations while 'Second Real' busts out waves of distortion and off-centre Mulero-style rhythms.
